Road Safety

Weather impacts our surface transportation system more than any other variable. Ice, snow, high winds, and flooding all can cause serious delays or even damage to our surface transportation system. We can’t stop or change weather, but we can monitor conditions and take appropraite action.

Thermal Mapping

The road network has consistent characteristics with respect to pavement temperature. Knowing where the cold locations are can prove to be invaluable during times of near freezing road temperatures. Thermal Mapping provides a very detailed map of temperature differences during night time hours, greatly improving the efficiency of road maintenance.
